Discover one of the most famous Val d'Isère ski runs
The Face de Bellevarde is without a doubt Val d’Isère’s most iconic run, made famous in 1992 when it hosted the men’s downhill event at the Albertville Olympic Games. It is still home to the men’s events at the Critérium de la Première Neige competition held every December. With a gradient of up to 71%, this technical run requires an advanced level of skiing!
Extending over more than 2,900 metres, with a vertical of more than 850 metres, the Face de Bellevarde run takes you straight down into the resort centre.
To reach the Face de Bellevarde, take the Olympique cable car, the very first 3S detachable cable car, built in France in 2002. This cable car will take you up to the top of Bellevarde in just 6 minutes.
A few top tips: If you’re in Val d’Isère in the spring, head to the Face de Bellevarde between 11am and 12 noon, when the snow has softened slightly.
